Raising Nutrient-dense Meat

The Why & How of pasture raised poultry

We raise our birds on a small scale with an emphasis on soil health, because healthy pastures equal healthy birds and healthy birds equal nutrient-rich protein for our family and the families who buy our chicken. Our birds are outside, on grass from day one. Fresh air, sunlight and room to forage as God intended. Regenerating the soil as they move daily across the pastures.

Conventional chicken from the grocery store is raised in a large barn and have little to no exposure to sunlight and fresh air. While your "free range" birds may have access to a barren patch outside the barn, most of their time is inside and overcrowded. These conditions do not produce nutritious meat or healthy birds, which is why they are often preventatively administered antibiotics and a chlorine bath at the time of harvest as ways to combat their environment.
